Although the breed still has my undying respect and loyalty, due to allergies and health issues, I can no longer have one in my home.  Below are some of the more remarkable dogs of my past ....

CA UCH URO2 Onesti Double Dog Dare RN,CGC,TT, HIC,VC (2/3 AKC CA)

DOB - 4/11/06

Eyes: CERF @ 4.5 weeks
MDR1 genotype: Normal/Normal

Dora is my spitfire - the epitome of a working Collie. Lithe, active, intelligent.  She has a great work ethic and enjoys learning new things, which of course, she does with the greatest of ease.

Due to my personal health issues and increased allergies to double-coated dogs, I had to place Dora.  Fortunately, because of her years of specialized training for my personal needs, I was able to place her with an Army veteran as a PTSD Service Dog .  They hit it off from the moment they met, and Dora has worked wonders for him already.  It's amazing, the power these dogs have to heal!

Due to age-related stress on her joints from the constant walking on/rising up from slick floors, we had to retire Dora from service work, but she found a wonderful retirement home with a lovely man who treats her like a queen, so all is good in the world again!

MDR1 genotype: Normal/Mutant

Smidgen (aka Mega Bitch) is my little "tomboy" Collie. She will do anything and everything I ask of her, and is not afraid to get her feet dirty doing so.    She is a true athlete, with a strong work ethic and the stamina to work all day long.  She was retired from impact/high speed events due to an injury suffered at her last Lure Coursing CAT event in April 2012.

On a whim, I brought Smidgen to a FTFTA UKC show (3/11/12) to show in Altered Conformation classes.  The old girl still had it - at close to 9 yrs old, she won an Altered Multi-Breed Best In Show under Judge Paul Bruneau.  So proud of my girl and the fact she's still got a "rockin bod"! lol

**Smidgen passed away on December 1, 2012, as a result of bladder cancer that spread to her spine.**

Malcolm was an awesome, versatile dog and will be sorely missed by all who knew (or knew of) him.

Nachos was my first obedience dog, who I started training when I was just 12 yrs old. She taught me patience, humility, and the finer points of dog training. She loved agility and was doing it before it was even an accepted sport (at the local park, jumping fences, climbing ladders and sliding down the slides). Oh, how I wish she were around today!!

Her devilish personality is what I strive to achieve in all of my working girls!

Merlyn was by far my most special dog. He got me through some rough times in my life and always looked to the bright side of every situation. He was my first real "all round" competition dog, and I regret that he is not around today to enjoy my favorite sports - Rally and Agility. I know we would have had a blast!

Reignmaker Riddle Me This CGC,TT
(Malcolm's cousin)

(1993-1995)
Phoenix was to be my "star" dog, but unfortunately died at a young age after complications from surgery to remove a foreign body from her stomach. She was probably the sweetest, smartest, easiest dog I have ever known, and would have surely taken the obedience ring by storm!
